I attended my first Classic Fighters airshow at Omaka, at the top of New Zealand's South Island, in 2005 with my dad, my best friend and his stepdad. Dad and I had press passes and the newspaper where I was doing work experience paid for our share of the Cessna 185 charter so I could write a feature with photos by Dad. I took my video camera but for some reason only filmed about half the show. Rather than force you to sit through an hour of different displays I thought everyone would appreciate clips of just the Great War replicas that flew:
- the Walt Redfern Airco DH.2 and John Shiveley Airco DH.5: https://youtu.be/J3BLxqoSLY4
- Ed and Pete Storo-built Bristol F2B Fighter vs. Carl Swanson-built Halberstadt D.IV: https://youtu.be/Z5DHFgUykys
- Viv Bellamy-Hampshire Aeroplane Club Pfalz D.III of The Blue Max fame (the more accurate of the two replicas built): https://youtu.be/_my71Lu4Ioc
- five Fokker Dr.Is of various origin vs the Gerald Thornhil Le Rhone-powered Sopwith Camel: https://youtu.be/DTgkjGe5ttU

Enjoy, and apologies for the quality of video from a 17yo with a second-hand camcorder on a day with very inclement weather!
