Airfix 1/72 Wildcat "Sock Scheme"
« on: January 15, 2022, 10:33:59 AM »

Sock Scheme? "What's that young Kiwi up to now?" I hear you ask.

Well, one day last year my wife Sam was out shopping and happened upon a pair of socks with planes on that she thought I'd quite like:

My first thought was "That looks like a Wildcat!" Second thought was "I wonder how it would look on a model..."

Sam got me the 1/72 Airfix F4F-4 Wildcat model for Christmas here's the result. She loves it!

Admission time: I originally posted this in the Completed Builds section - it wasn't until the following day I realised my error and used my newfound mod powers to put it in the right place!

The internet delivers sound, writing and pictures in no time to the other side of the world, but no smells. Therefore it is almost impossible to say, if this is an authentic sock-scheme ;)

She doesn't attend airshows anymore but she's very happy for me to go, and to support modelling! Even if she refers to working on kits as "Walking on the catwalk"!!
