Rumpler D.I - 1/72nd scale Merlin kit
« on: December 20, 2021, 01:34:50 PM »
It's finished, warts included.  One more off the shelf of doom.  I'm down to the last three.  I have an Eduard Albatros D.V that just needs rigging, a Hanriot HD.9 that was crushed and will need all new struts, undercarriage, and rigging, and a barely started Flashback Voisin 3.  I did a bit of cockpit work on the Voisin, it's going to be a real challenge for me with all the integral photo etch.  Oh, and I did get a couple of very crudely carved out ear radiators on the DFW C.V, for those that have been following along.

Great work on your Rumpler, Stuart -

Like the pilot figure in the cockpit

What a odd looking machine though!

I agree with Dave - an odd looking machine. But still interesting as these are rarely seen as models. Good finish all round - these must be satisfying to see removed from the shelf of doom.

Your results on this shelf of Doom project are impressive. Really nice looking oddball aircraft built to a high standard.

Congrats on finishing a Merlin kit and still staying sane.  :)
I must say, as others have, that's one odd looking a/c.
