1/72 scale Eduard Albatros D.V
« on: December 19, 2021, 04:20:24 AM »
Albatros D.V, Otto Kissenberth, Jasta 16b Mid 1917.  I used Wingnut Wings as reference for this build. The edelweiss decal was from FCM. Paint was Misterkit, and Tamiya. Rigging was .0059 Nitinol wire. Overall a good build.  Kissenberth survived the war only to die in a mountaineering accident in August 1919.

A few more. The Eduard kit is easier than the Roden kit despite missing the water pipes. I do build both kits.  About 50% finished with the Roden kit at present.

Super finish and a very interesting scheme. Excellent rigging too - and all in the One True Scale!

Great work on your DV and the wire you used for rigging looks spot on.

I always liked that particular bird.  I didn't know there was a decal for it.  I'll have to look around.  Very nice job.

Great build Rip!  Tell me: how did you like working with the FCM decals?  Are these the same FCM decals where you removed the film afterwards?

FCM  decals were good to work with. This was the first time I used them. I believe Peddinghaus decals required me to trim them as close as possible. Thank you all for the nice comments. I have a Roden Albatros D.V, KP Sopwith Triplane and Roden SE5a almost finished.

Nice Albatros. :) The Eduard D.V/D.Va kits are great, I wish they’d produced the entire family.
