Thank you very much, Gentlemen.

Here is how things stand now....

I decided to pile straight on in to the cabanes here, rather than put off the tricky bit.

I decided to pile straight on in to the cabanes, rather than put off the tricky bit. I did the front cabanes first, and getting them to a proper length was a bit fiddly. I took the initial measurement from the model, then added a bit. Once I had things seeming right, I did not wait to paint. With the center section raised up, the dihedral angle comes right for both wings. I then went ahead and did the undercarriage (the kit pieces are not worth salvaging). First I made the cross-piece, then assembled the legs to it. Having the undercarriage on is necessary for the rigging. I am going  to go ahead and rig before adding the rudder and the fuselage serial decal --- the rudder attachment will be fragile, and it is best to minimize touching the home-made decals even after they are applied.

Your work is truly outstanding.  I wouldn't even begin to tackle something like this, but you are certainly making a silk purse out of this.   Looking forward to your rigging technique.

Thank you, Gentlemen.

Structural rigging is now pretty much complete: Flight and landing and incidence wires are all in (except for the cabane flights, between the forward cabane struts). Upper (king-post) bracings and drift wires are left, as are control runs.

Next step will be wheels and tail skid, and finishing up the engine and exhausts....

I think the designers had a lot of bracing wire to hand and decided to use it all just for the hell of it - a tricky one to rig!
What are you using? I found it easier to do the king posts as part of the main rigging (in one run) but I drilled and threaded it, it doesn't look as though have used that method....

It does like redundancy was viewed as a positive good, Sir. At least one does not read complaints they fell apart at a harsh look.

I use EZ-Line elastic, cutting and applying each line individually. I put a tiny bit of CA gel where the end is to go, wet the end with accelerator, and touch it to the glue, holding for a slow five-count. It usually works...

The line only needs to be a very little short to be pulled straight. Cutting the line up to a quarter or a third short can move the structure appreciably, and help (if well calculated) in truing up small mis-alignments. You will see people say the elastic does not add structural strength, but that is not really true. It may not brace up so much as monofilament, but it does make the structure noticeably more rigid. Prior to the rigging, if you picked this up by one wing-tip, you could feel a bit of wobble; with this rigging in, there is none.

Excellent work, and in 1:72 Scale!? The results you are achieving with a very limited Kit are truly impressive, my compliments and I'm looking forward to seeing this in the Completed Section.
Cheers,
Lance

That's quite the propeller shaft sticking out of the engine!  Seriously, outstanding work to date.

She is looking really good Old Man, the colours are great and the rigging, well, what can I say, to rig a model in this scale is a feat on its own, you did a superb job.
