DFW C.V - 1/72 Classic Plane vacuform

Here's a progress shot of my DFW that has been languishing on the shelf of doom for many years.  Skills such as they are these days, are significant over what they were when I started this model.  There's lots of areas I would have liked to redo but I didn't want to tear it all apart and start over.  It therefore falls into the category of 'just finish the damn thing'.  The white metal parts in the kit were, well, let's just say not to my liking.  I replaced the prop/spinner, gun ring and gun, exhaust, and wheels with Aeroclub offerings.  The interplane struts are handmade from brass tube and piano wire.  The cabene struts and landing gear are Strutz.

I never completed any vacuform, though I started a few ::)  the subject is interesting and the model looks good and very close to completion.
Looking forward to the completed model.

That looks very good indeed and so close to completion that it would be a real shame not to finish it. It is much better than your text suggests - I am sure that it will impress many when it is finished.

Stephen.

Hi,
You have to have the code to embed the photo, not just the link to it. If you right-click on the photo, there is an option in the menu to copy that code. Then put it inbetween img and /img in brackets.
And so it works - see below. BTW, nice job on the model :-)

That’s really a nice job! Once I also started this kit but I never went as far as you did. Wouldn‘t it be a pity not to finish it?

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.  It's the only model on my bench so it will get finished.  Besides, all the real heavy lifting required on a vac is done.  I just need to wrap it up with final assembly, rigging, paint touch ups, and decals.  What could possibly go wrong? Right?

But hopefully it'll all be a walk in the park for you. I've never even touched a vacform model, that's how scary they look to me. Good job!

Progress is being made.  The top wing is on and it's mostly straight and mostly aligned.
