Nieuport 17 - Nungesser - Copper State Models 1/32
« on: October 21, 2021, 06:02:25 PM »
I'd better move this over to the completed section.

Lovely CSM N17. Why don't we see more of these built? They're every bit as good as any defunct NZ based products.

After toying with the idea of an RFC 17/23, I decided to use the kit decals for Nungesser's colourful machine. Unfortunately I couldn't find a figure of the blond clean-shaven Capitaine N, so decided on a generic French officer to add scale to the 17.
(Also, I couldn't bear to cover up all that lovely cockpit detail, so left off a side panel and kept the airframe nice and clean as if a museum display.)

I'll build a few more of these....
Sandy

PS Sorry for the camera phone pics!

Veeeery beautiful, Sandy!!! And it is astonishing indeed that we don't see more of Copper State Models' wonderful kits built. I guess, our days are gone with WnW‘s demise 😢.

Wonderful build; glad you left off the side panel so we can see the interior work. Also great to see a French aircraft.

Very nicely done Sandy, and the open side panel is a brilliant and effective touch! I must get going on mine, I agree that the quality of these Kits is every bit as good as any of the former competition's. Beautiful job on the finish as well!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the encouraging comments, mes amis.
It really is a nice kit: I have a 1/32 Kozakov figure so I'll need to do a Russian one, then an Italian, then a Belgian, then an RFC, then an Estonian, then.....

Thanks Fredrik and Dave

I do wish that others would follow your example amd leave panels off so that all of the interior detail can be clearly seen. Super model, excellent finish.

Stephen.
