Evening all!

This was a nice and rather simple build and looks neat when done.  Fitter has several of these repainted in nice schemes.  And the Marek design did fit extremely well.  My only complaint (suggestion?) is that I didn't do well with the paper box spars.  For me, I can't get a good wing profile and it's harder to get a straight wing as well.  Next time, I'll make ribs or have a balsa core that has been airfoiled a bit.  I still like it, though and it's a colorful addition.  You can also see it next to my paper card Albatros (man...it was a tiny little beast!) and next to the Roden 1/32nd plastic example.  Holds up extremely well while being just a tad smaller.  I'd love to see Mario of Matt77 fame do a texture job on this puppy!

Thanks for looking and now...what's next?

Dan

Your card model SSW DIII looks wonderful, Dan - hard to believe it is not plastic.

Are these card models difficult to put together as they look very interesting.

Thanks, Dave.

They aren't difficult but do require practice.  They are a mix of old balsa and tissue models and plastics.  You need to form everything using various darts, cuts and folds and some shapes just are very difficult to reproduce in simple paper.  However, they go together more like the "real thing" such as skins of formers etc...and are very fun to assemble.  Go to Ecardmodels and spend $5-8 on a 1/33rd subject.  After a few, you'll be a pro.

P.S.  I have no affiliation with that site.  I just get many of my downloads for paper models from there!  It's a fun place to shop around.  There is also a great site called Landships II that is all WWI, mostly armor subjects but several really lovely FREE paper models for downloading.  You could try a couple of these and with little cash outlay.  Plus...when you mess up, you just print more parts!  ;D

Yor paper models are truly super Dan - and you make them look so easy! What you write about printing new parts if you make a mess of one applies equally to scratch building of course!

I can get the idea of a paper model, but I really can't se how you could turn "normal" paper into this! Truly amazing work!

Thank you all VERY MUCH.  I appreciate the love paper gets at this site from such accomplished modelers as yourselves.  It sure is fun and this little SSW is a tidy little machine.  More is forthcoming!

Cheers,
Dan

P.S. I do promise to make plastic in the near future too... ;D
