Bandai 1/72nd Y-Wing & UM 1/72nd captured T-34
« on: August 23, 2021, 02:44:52 AM »
I've been painting on the Y-Wing when the mood strikes me for over a year.  This is my first attempt at micro painting and a bit of weathering.  These are fun little inexpensive kits with lots of detail.
The T34 was a freebie at a monthly IPMS meeting.  I wanted to see what the fuss was about with the resurgence of armor popularity the last few years and give more weathering a go.  The kit came with resin and photo etch bits and link and length tracks.  It went together quite well but I did have problems of my own makings with the tracks.  Nothing a bit of mud couldn't cover.  I had a good time learning some new techniques on this one.

Two excellent models there Stuart. I especially like the captured T-34 and think that the mud/weathering is most convincing.

Neat! My favourite is the Y-Wing, there are so many nice kits that fancy my interest, just too little time and space!

Nice models, I like your weathering on both of them.

Nice Stuart!  Did you find out what the fuss was about?   :)

I enjoyed building the one, but it wasn't enough for me to become an armor builder.  I'll stick to biplanes.
