Comment:
The Meng 1/24 scale Fokker Dr.1 (originally tooled for Wingnut Wings) is now regarded as perhaps the best plastic model of this iconic WW1 fighter but the kit supplied colour schemes were fairly conventional.
The Meng options covered Dr.1s flown by Udet, Von Richthofen, Klimke and Kempf.

Fortunately Czech manufacturer Eduard has filled the gap with a timely release of 1/24 schemes for the Meng Dr.1 offering four colourful schemes.
Eduard have chosen late war schemes with the straight cross national insignia and are to be applauded for the variety of colourful options.
The decals for this set are on A5 size decal paper across three sheets and are to a very high standard.
The decals are, as expected, in perfect register and colour tones seem spot on. The sheet includes necessary serial numbers, individual markings, propeller manufacturer emblem and sundry stencil data.

Marking options:
The decal set covers four aircraft.
1.   Fokker Dr.1 450/17 of Lt Josef Jacobs, Jasta 7, Belgium March 1918.
2.   Fokker Dr.1 479/17 of Lt August Raben, Jasta 18, France October 1918
3.   Fokker Dr.1 503/17 of Lt Hans Korner, Jasta 19, Belgium, April 1918
4.   Fokker Dr.1 557/17 of Lt Rudolf Klimke, Jasta 27, France, May 1918

This is a very complete and welcome decal release and sure to enhance the Meng Dr.1 although it should be noted Eduard too have included the colourful Klimke scheme. It’s up to the modeller to choose which to use but personally I would go with Eduard’s decals.
Conclusion:
Highly recommended.
