Truely a "Wild hair" to build something in the noseeum scale. I'm sure you'll do your usual good work.

Ed

I hope so but no promises  :o

Good to read that you have at last recognised the superiority of God's Own Scale Rick! You will quickly find that it is no more difficult than the over-large scale that you are more used to - less detail because generally it cannot be seen. The other major advantage is that you get more models in the same display space!!

A little gem is in the making here - just keep at it and apply your usual magic and we can then all celebrate your success.

Stephen.

Thanks Stephen. I have said elsewhere that doing some 1/72nd 2 seaters would allow me to place them between the 1/32nd scale kits without taking up more display area  ;D As for My "Magic", we all know there is No Real Magic....just Smoke and Mirrors  8)

As Lone Modeler said, it's nice to see you've come to your senses.  ;) ;) ;)

Great kit, I've got one stalled on the shelf of doom, but it was my own doing, and nothing to do with the kit.
(BTW, if memory serves, the Flashback kit was produced by Eduard and has nothing to do with Toko, Eastern Express, etc. In fact, the kit does a better job of representing the 1 1/2 Strutter than those kits if only because of the "upsweep" of the fuselage to the tail which is lacking in the Toko/Eastern Express kit.)

I'm pulling for you ol' pard!!!!

Thanks Warren. I realized that I had actually worked on a 1/72nd kit a mere 10 or 11 years ago for the Fokker Streaking thread. I dug it out of the box I had stuffed it in after I dropped and broke loose the upper wing and axle wing. I spent a bit of time today putiing it back together so it will join in this build log.

Now that was the most sensible move you have made for about 10-11 years Rick! Good to read that the above is being displayed at last - and so it should be IMHO.

Just shows the rest of us what you can do in the One True Scale.

Stephen.

Strutters are moving forward nicely Rick and I see you tossed in another Fokker ....something has to shoot them down I guess  ;)

Quick start Rick, the tiny scale doesn't seem to be slowing down the building machine.

We even get a bonus DR1 making a sneak attack on the build. :)

Oh yes Rick, every one need this Strutter in his (Sopwith) collection!
I curiously look forward to seeing what you make of it!

Some time ago I was nearly bought this kit on ebay! I noticed only Flashback and the nice cover page, and the seller has accidentally put 1/48 in the title, but realized the real scale in last moment! So now I have the Roden kit in my stash ;)

Cheers,
Frank

Funny thing Frank is that before I gave up on building 1/48th scale I owned both versions of the Roden kit   ;D I don't remember if I mentioned this but these 1/72nd scale builds are intended as an OOB, FUN experience! You will not see any frills, bells, or whistles  8)

So both Strutters have had the fuselages closed up, filled, sanded, and sprayed with a Tamiya beige to see what still needs to be done. So far building these OOB I am really liking the Toko kit for external details and the Flashback kit for internal details. Of course I haven't hit the crucial wing mounting stage yet!

Certainly making good progress with both Rick. Is the Dr 1 there ready to shoot them down when they are finished?
