DFW C.V (Mid), WnW 1/32
« on: May 17, 2021, 05:57:00 AM »
Hi all,

last kit from my WIP archive, finished already, just some quick view, the next one (I hope) will be realtime build :)

DFW C.V was really successful, almost 4000 were built until armistice.

I've chosen Mid version, grenade marking, because I liked "taped" wings and tail surfaces. I used LF model propeller, Taurus accessories (valve springs, spark plugs etc), Gaspatch anemomenter and turnbuckles and HGW seatbelts. Friend of mine prepaired masks for crosses and grenades. Drooling bulldog, GSI paints, oil colors and some pigments were used.

Some wood in interior. Base color (some white I thing, not sure :) ), oil paints, Tamiya clear orange and MRP clear flat to seal the job. Then some details just handbrushed and weathering to give some life.

Many thanks for kind words.

It looks quite morbid to me that pilot sat surrounded by fuel tank :) I tried to replicate some paint scratches and fuel gauge on it. Leather was finished with oil paints. I love how perfect WnW cockpits look just out of the box.

Looks great. You are right about the WNW cockpits. All that is needed is control wires and a Great paint job, both of which you have done well!
