Wight Quadruplane, Spin Models 1/48

I really like odd aeroplanes and this is truly one of them. This is the handiwork of a true craftsman modeller: the engine cowlong and metal parts, extra tiny but significant details, rigging - I could go on and on. It looks much bigger that it really is - I could easily believe that was 1/32 scale. Another gem in your collection of jewels.

Superb Frank. It's sometimes a real challenge to align two wings properly but you managed to align 4 wings. Great!

The build detail and especially the rigging are top notch,

Mike, the bird (and the distance between the wings) is so small that I could not use the usual turnbuckles or RAF wire terminals. Rigging felt like I was building a 1/72 model

It's sometimes a real challenge to align two wings properly but you managed to align 4 wings.

Here I take the advantage of my build method. It was possible to bend the brass pins of the struts with brute force on the wings.

Lance, I am very glad that these skills now include resin models. This will definitely not be the only model made of this material.

What a wonderful build; Spin kits aren’t the easiest to build I’ve done their Bristol M.1c and the Sage.  It had to have taken considerable time and lots of patience to line up those small struts and the four wings.  And then add the complex rigging. 

The finish colors look perfect too. Congratulations on a great model.

Oh yes, the kit was for a long time in my stash, I found it interesting, but was a bit afraid due to resin and the four wings.

Spin kits aren’t the easiest to build I’ve done their Bristol M.1c and the Sage.

It was helpful to do a kit conversion with a Spin modification set (Pfalz Triplane Experimental) to get familar with that resin.

That was not my last build of Spin Models, as 'half-model' scratch builder it gives my a good base to add scratched parts
