Airfix 1/72 Swordfish
« on: May 15, 2021, 05:33:21 PM »
Morning all,

I’ve been a bit distracted lately, but I have managed to finish my Airfix 1/72 Swordfish.. lovely kit, but mine came with awful surface textures.. gritty, really poor mouldings. Airfix sent me another set of sprues but they were the same! Had to sand everything down. Despite that, I really enjoyed building her.

Awesome result and great detailing Guy, it hard to believe this is in 1/72 scale!

If you'd said this is 1/24, I'd believe you too.

That is really nice, Guy, a beautiful rendition of the "Stringbag!" Glad you sorted out that grainy plastic! Well done! Marc

Oh, a new biplane to be safely stored in your cabinet?
I like it, interesting colors and details - well done!

Another clean and exquisite build finished by you - and a gem of a model as a result. Lovely work indeed, Guy. I really enjoy seeing your work.
Cheers,
Gary

Very nice build. Your inter/early war RAF is expanding nicely.

Great look with pre-war livery and excellent finishing. I built one when the model was released but it's still waiting for riggings  ::)

Thank you all,

Always nice to get friendly feedback!

Yes Frank, another one for the cabinet. It’s not coming until June now.. tanker stuck in the Suez Canal  :o you’d think they could come up with a more believable excuse than that..

I must admit, the inter war period is becoming a mini obsession! It really was the golden era of classic aircraft design wasn’t it? Such things of beauty!

Beautiful build of this classic plane and kit. I wonder how you always manage these tiny 1/72nd parts to be so clean.
Really nice addition to your collection.

Super model Guy. I would be more than happy to havve that in my cabinet. You certainly know how to present inter-war aircraft in thier best light.

Great looking results - especially for 1/72 scale.
