Flight Magazine, 1909-1919 - Ready to download.

Many moons ago there were CDs for sale by a gentleman called Derek Riley containing the aforementioned issues. I bought them from him and now I find the CDs are no longer readable (my fault for not making a back-up...), now these CDs are not available, I have tried to get in touch with Mr. Riley with no luck.

So I have patiently downloaded every issue of Flight Magazine from the 1909-1919 period from archive.org and uploaded these, together with the index published in Over The Front website, combined into a single 4Gb file for anybody interested. Here is the link:

that was a great documentation and I was complaining with myself for not downloading it when they were available...
I had just some of the tables that are anyway a great help to scratchbuild those airplanes

Ooops! I wil try another compression method and upload it again. Did anybody got to download and extract the files?

I was able to download it, without a problem (used Chrome).
unzip was able to unpack it without problems (don't use GUI tools due to the size!).

That is a birthday and Christmas present at once, together with the searchable index a wonderful research resource!
Also all the nice Wikipedia links into the PDF archive are back for me now

I managed to download the zip file OK but then the Mac Archive software wouldn't unzip it, unrecognised format.

So tried the Google ZipExtractor and this started the unzip process but then my iMac ran out of memory.

For me the file is too big, needs breaking down into smaller chunks - is by year possible?

Thanks for putting the files up, would love to be able to look through it.

Winzip say 'Central directory missing', then 'Cannot open, does not appear to be a valid archive'

Use the unzip command line utility. As I wrote above the GUI tools try a preview and run into out-of-memory problems.

Thank you - that has sorted it out! I wasn't aware of that plugin for Chrome. Using that, Chrome previewed the file and has downloaded it to my hard drive

Oh, hang on - now I can see what the Google extractor has done. I now have a copy on my 'My Drive' somewhere in the Google cloud - not on my PC

To download it, the extractor recompresses it!
