Airfix 1/72 Gladiator Finished
« on: April 14, 2021, 05:46:59 AM »
Evening all,

I tried to sneak this in with the Siskin build, but Alexis caught me red handed - it’s a fair cop guvnor, as we say in the UK. So as I was ‘outed’ I thought I may as well give it its own topic as it’s now done, out of the box pretty much, the Airfix decals performed really well. Battle of Britain markings.

Great fun pocket money kit  :D

You keep going the way you are , your cabinet will be filled in no time !  ;)

She turned out fantastic Guy ! Really like the camo , very clean work . Did you use a masking set for this ?

A real little gem Guy, and most important, a fun Build! With this and the Sisken under your belt you should be ready "pumped" for a big project in your new environment!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Alexis   ;)  Yes, I cheated there - it’s the ‘Top Notch’ mask set. You’re like the forum police... I can’t get away with anything!  :-X

Thanks Lance, as you say, it’s great to have a fun build. I’m getting rather drawn to these little 1/72 models, which is unfortunate as I based my cabinet on 1/48 and it’s massive! It should be arriving in the UK later this month  ;D

That looks super Guy. I have seen Dave's model and it was very impressive - yours looks every bit as good. I was pleased to read that you had real fun with it - that is supposed to be what a hobby is about!

Never mind the scale - it just means that you can get more models into your cabinet when it arrives... and anyway this is the One True Scale!

Great looking build! I'm sure you will find your cabinet perfect for these smaller builds as well. They are well worth a place in it!

Nice model, Guy.
I assume this must be a fairly new tooling of the venerable Airfix kit - the last one I made (about 1960!) had a blob head pilot moulded with the fuselage halves! I remember I sorted him out by filling the canopy with glue so it melted around him. You've done a rather better job!

Yes Sandy, it’s a new tool - and well worth checking out. Although it sounds like you nailed the old one!

How nice to find this one today - a real pleasure to look at. Really like your camo scheme. Lovely to see a vintage kit treated so nicely in your care  ;)
