Sure would be a great kit as it was used by Italy and Belgium during WW1.  I've read it was superior to the contemporary Nieuport fighter and Italy thought it superior to the SPAD fighters.  I understand it was a pending Wingnut Wings release.  The WNW website says they hope to return to business.

According to D. Wilson, our principal moderator, WNW is no more doing business, so any hopes that they will come back is very remote. They have their main staff gone and any possibility of us ever seeing back those kits is through another model kit manufacturer. However, I wonder why on earth, WNE still has their website up and active, although no taking orders. It is a mystery that the company and its owner keep all of us in suspense, they are cooking something up!

If we see a 1/32nd Hanriot it is far more likely to be from CSM, Roden, or Special Hobby. wnw is gone.

Actually, the company most likely to release a Hanriot is Meng - WNW used them for many projects towards the end, we have proof of the Dr.1's in different scales, and the engine of these planes is the same (basically) as the Hanriot... And we know the Hanriot was planned by WNW, maybe tooling even started at Meng? Who knows? It is also a real pity both WNW and CSM anounced a Starstutter at the same time - and now we are very unlikely to get a kit from either! (But in the same vein - could Meng have been involved in that tooling???) Just surmising, and actually celebrating this Golden Era of WW1 aircraft modelling...

Marc

From what I know, nobody at this stage has a 1/32 Hanriot in development or planning.

Wingnut Wings is gone and won't be back. The best we can hope for is a reopening of the NZ online store to sell off stock. Unless Sir Peter Jackson sells/ leases the tooling of his kits to others ( most unlikely) the WnW models are gone for all time now.

Don't get too excited about Meng and WW1 kits. They tooled the 1/32 and 1/24 Fokker Dr.1s for Wingnuts and took over the projects when Wingnuts closed. That was their only WnW involvement but the big question is whether they will create their own line of new 1/32 scale WW1 aircraft? Nobody knows.

While Copper State do beautiful models they have scaled back their 1/32 production schedule. They have a 1/32 Caudron G.III due out this September but that seems to be it for aircraft. They seem to be putting more resources toward armoured car models.

Our best hope for a Hanriot is Roden. They are tentatively back in the 1/32 WW1 model business with three new kits on the way - but there's a huge challenge to us as modellers to support them by buying the kits if we want more.

Roden are certainly listening to us - the Forum was instrumental in persuading Roden to resume WW1 model production and it was our wants poll that encouraged them to add the Spad XIII to the release list and then make it the first of the new kits they would release!

So stop dreaming about Wingnuts and focus on the companies that are still in business and are listening to us.

Our hobby is still in good heart.

Very well said and good points. I would add that those who are on other forums and platforms hopefully will spread the word about Roden being back in the game as well as others like Special Hobby and CSM. JMHO.

Hi
Interesting question and idea Meng might go into WW1. They certainly may have got a nice return on the Dr1s. As mentioned Roden is the most likely. I think the Hanriot came 2nd in our poll? Could be their next bread and butter for after initial releases
Cheers, Daz

Some good info on this thread, thanks, Dave! Pity that no more half finished projects are coming via Meng, but the Dr.1's will be great! Don't forget the 1/48th rotary engine was a Meng tooling, and they did a wonderful job! We can live in hope.... And so much promised by other manufacturers, and so many unbuilt kits, life is good! Regards, Marc.
