Well, even Better! The finish on the red cowling is beautiful! I think the spattering looks great!

Love the colour, and the shading.  The red is lovely.

Cheers,

Great paint job Guy!

The wings don’t have massive attachment points, what would your preference be for type of glue here?
Oh, that is a tricky point of the kit!
I glued it with CA, but IT WILL NOT HOLD THE WINGS !!!
The wing attachment point are "only" a reference point to hold it in position, the forces, e.g. against the gravity need to come out of the rigging. So I rigged it with strong fishing line and not with my usual "rubber" line. And I strongly recommend to do the wing mount and some rigging (to upper and lower pylon) in one session.
I don't want to scare you, but a friend has had this plane painted but not assembled on the shelf for years because of this very issue.

Cheers,
Frank

Now you tell me Frank! It’s meant to be a confidence builder after my Sopwith crashed & burned! I might try and epoxy them combining it with rigging...

Thanks

The letter is in the mail... could be with you any time now.

Apart from that I'm with the others. It looks better now! I'm also with Frank on the need for structural rigging. I haven't built this, but I had the same issue with my Fokker E.II.

Hi Guy ,

Well I must say , awesome job on the paint !

For the rigging , on the wings for the locations drill holes , but not all the way through glue in wire hoops . On the king post glue a line much longer then needed . Center it on the king post with super glue . slip one end throught the wire hoop adjusting the tension as needed . fix with super glue . Re-beat this for all the rigging lines for the top before doing the bottom rigging lines . Tension as need  ;)

Thanks Alexis,

I’ll have an experiment, but I can’t go any further until I get the masks, didn’t arrive today with the post, hopefully tomorrow!

I started a 1/72 Gloster Gladiator yesterday, and a 1/72 Eduard Spitfire MkIX arrived yesterday, oh and so did my Thunderbolt PE and Montex Masks!* I’m in very real danger of having too much on the go and not finishing anything at this rate!

Guy

*Fredrik - I’ve got these as they come with nose art decals....

That is really looking nice, Guy. Fabulous look to the paintwork! I know what you mean about having too much on the go, but it's great to have a real passion for the hobby like that and still finish some projects (a rarity I find with many modellers that I know).
Cheers,
Gary

Ahh... Guy, we never said we'd be exclusive... 😉

I've got the that same Spit on the go. Mine is almost finished, but I suppose you still will beat me to the finish line.

I still can't believe you've got mail service on Saturdays! That ended a long time ago in Sweden. I might actually never have experienced it myself. But good for you and hopefully the masks will be there tomorrow.
/Fredrik

Thanks Gary & Fredrik,

The Swedish Postal Service came through today  ;D and I managed to sneak some time to use them. All went according to plan, just putting off the wings going on!

I have some Gaspatch turnbuckles on their way too, so I think I’ll have to wait for that if I go down the route of rigging the wings in place  ???

Guy,
I must apologize as I believe I may have given you some bad info. You had asked about the Morane Saulnier logo as displayed on the engine cowling of many of their aircraft. I had said brass on a black background which is true on a black cowling only apparently! I've been through all the refs I have and dug out the decals I was gifted by Des, they are brass design with a clear background. In the references the background is shown as red on red cowlings and so on and the photos , although black and white, appear to support the cowling color as the background for the MS Design.
The "N" is looking very nice, it's going to be a real beauty when complete.  Hope this isn't too late and again, my apologies!
Cheers,
Lance
