Submarine U-9 WWI
« on: March 04, 2021, 08:39:43 PM »
Hello everybody,
after a long time a little sign of life from me ;D. Today I would like to present you my submarine U-9 of the Imperial Navy from the First World War. The kit is from the German company "Das Werk" and was released in January. The scale is 1/72, and thus 82 cm, or 32.28 inches long!

best regards
Jürgen

Great to see this one build up. I also couldn‘t resist buying one from MBK...

Is it because of your browsers? Others can see the pictures.

Is it because of your browsers?
Only indirect.
Some modern browsers like Chrome do not load pictures from insecure sources (http) or wrongly configured secure connections (https) into secure pages (loaded via https, like this forum) anymore. So Chrome do not show pics while for example Firefox still show them. With future updates of Firefox this may change.
If I open a picture directly in Chrome, it opens the URL and picture, but tells me "not secure".
So the problem is not the browser but the storage of the pictures.

Cheers,
Frank

Okay there are no photos showing on my PC either. I use Chrome.

I accessed the post details using Forum wizardry and can see there are images listed but they don't show.

I use PostImage as a photo host and it works very well.

cheers

Hello friends,
I am sorry that you have problems with the display of the pictures :(. I switched my domain to HTTPS. If I did everything right, you should see the pictures now.
Best Regards

Hi Jurgen

All the photos are now showing. Great model! I am very tempted to get this model kit as I have the Revell 1/72 Type VIIc U Boat from WW2 so they would make a great pair.

Thank you for sharing this work. Its great to see WW1 naval vessels getting attention from the model companies and your model is  an excellent replica.

Hello Dave,
I'm glad that it worked ;D. If you want, I can also do a little construction report for the U-9. Where do I put it in? In "Under Construction", or here too?

Jürgen your model looks fantastic. A most interesting model indeed - I saw it recently and was really impressed. You've done a wonderful job on this great kit. Congratulations!
