Fokker D.VIIF - 1/28th scale Revell
« on: January 23, 2021, 12:01:00 PM »
Hello everyone!
After a little over ten months I'm calling this one done. This was a great build to learn new techniques and to
overcome the shortcomings of an old, out of shape, kit. I need to thank all of the other builders on this forum for their
encouragement and support. Also, those of you that share your builds techniques.

If anyone would like advice about correcting this particular kit, send me a message and I'll be happy to help.

                                                                                                    Thanks again and Happy Modeling!

                                                                                                                                              Kevin

Stellar work on this one, Kevin! Truly challenging project, as documented in your build log, and your results are highly commendable.

That’s really well done Kevin  :D

I built their Dr.I and actually really enjoyed it! What’s next? Spad?

I enjoyed watching your processes on this build Kevin. The results are a superb Fokker DVII to say the least. Modeling at it's best!

I would never have guessed that such an outstanding model could have been made from those old mouldings. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I can say that aftermarket goodies made all the difference to this model. The Copper State models BMW IIIa was key to the
build along with the LF Models wood prop. Richard Andrews at Aviattic provided the lozenge decals along with a special printing on white decal paper for the rib tapes.
This kit hasn't been reissued for a long time but they pop up on eBay all the time. I don't think I'll do another one for a long time, if ever.

                                                                                                                                     Thanks again, Kevin

Kevin, it was a joy to follow this build, because you have done it in a very careful, clean, controlled way - very impressive! And that pays off in the finished model
Your wooden tools are so nice, you should build some other machines to be able to reuse the tools ;)

Cheers,
Frank

Thanks very much Frank. I will use my gigs for other projects. They are designed to be modified.

The final result shows the true extent of the magic corrections you performed on this rather average kit, Kevin! Like everyone else (Just about!) I have this kit in my stash and your thread shows what an impressive result can be obtained! Thank you for the very helpful and informative thread too! ATB, Marc.
