Cutting Nitinol Wire
« on: January 17, 2021, 07:25:46 AM »
Forumites,
I remember hearing about Nitinol wire some years back. Got some, and thought to drag it out to use on a current project/build. Man alive, this stuff is tough!  How do y'all cut this stuff?  I searched the web, but only found articles dealing with it in industrial settings, etc.

Thank you!

I've been using it for years and I cut it with a regular X-acto #11 blade on a piece of smooth ceramic tile.  A piece of glass would work well too.

Thanks very much Dan. So far I managed to miscut one piece, and just bend it over all. I'll try to find a piece of thick glass or price of tile now.
