My main distraction from models
« on: January 06, 2021, 03:01:41 PM »
This project has taken precedence of models for a while, but the end is in sight.
1937 Peugeot 302, found in France 18 months ago. Been off the road since 1970 and has only done 53000 km from new. Not restored, the task has been to recommission it without losing any originality. Paint and upholstery are all original, mechanicals checked and repaired where needed. After years work interrupted by Covid lockdowns, it is now up and running

That is wonderful 👍👍 And actually a restoration like that is some kind of modelling - just in scale 1:1 😁

Yep. 1/32 is much easier and considerably cheaper though!

You can tell it's owned by a modeller as you haven't followed the instruction manual putting it back together: you've mounted the headlights behind the radiator grill, rather than out on the wings where they belong! 😃
(Bet getting replacement parts for this is much more difficult than asking Airfix for another undercarriage leg!)
Nice obsession though, Tony. Congrats.

It's actually pretty easy to get parts for, the only issue is that all the parts are in Europe... and I'm not!

Very nice car! As a hobby may be uneasy, expensive and frustrating but when you get a fully operational vintage car (or plane or any machine) is a priceless joy.
