Painted propellers on Sopwith Pups - colour and amount?
« on: November 14, 2020, 10:49:04 AM »
Hi all,
I’m working away on a WNW RFC Pup and would like to do a propeller with paint on it, but looking at survivors and replicas there seem to be a lot of different representations - they could be grey or cream, the paint could be the outer third of each blade or almost to the hub.

Is there any documented rhyme or reason to this? In the end I’m going for what I like the look of rather than sticking to the WNW instructions, and I’m leaning toward a light colour and not much of it (so the woodgrain’s still visible).

I’d be grateful for any feedback on this.
