thanks for the comments and for looking in on my project

I've got he fuselage halves finished and joined together, the fit is pretty good and only a slight fettling was needed.

I've put part of the carriage together and PVA'd it to a couple of stirring sticks, this should give me a steadier platform when fitting wings etc.

The upper wing is now assembled and I added a couple of .8mm brass pins to give it a bit of strength.

The underside of both wings are now painted, they look white but do have a slight shade to them, i mixed up mainly white but added some brown and grey to create a slight off white colour, gotta be honest it looked a bit darker in the mixing pot than it does on the wing but when seen next to white you can tell the difference.

Before painting i used a pencil to add some dark grey to the spar grooves on the underside, after a few coats over the top of the pencil lines i think it looks ok

Nice progress EBF , using the dolley as a building base is an excellent idea  :)

Hi Early Bird Fan! looking good so far..just one hint: the outer parts of the wings should be fitted with a slight dihedral ,most important because otherwise the wings will appear sagged after assembly.
cheers

It looks like your pencil lines did the trick! Looking excellent!

Some very neat and beautiful work! I do like your effects on the wing underside... Marc.

You have to love Roden. In this somewhat mean-spirited age, opening up their Ni. 27 yielded half a Sopwith F.1 on the rotary sprue. Very nice. Buying them from everywhere now, where possible.

Good luck, she's looking fine already: such a beautiful bird.  :)

Just catching up EBF: you are making excellent progress with this monster. I like your jig for supporting the wing assembly while it dries!

Even in 1:72 this is a big bird. I think the progress so far looks real good

This is a great build and I think it looks brilliant!

I have this one in my stash too and I am following with interest.
