Ansaldo A.1 from an SVA.5
« on: November 05, 2020, 08:26:16 AM »
How hard would it be to convert an Ansaldo SVA.5 into an A.1 Ballila? What would be the main things to look out for? Don’t laugh, but I want to use a SMER 1/50 kit.

You are much better off finding a 1/48 Karaya Ballila A.1 kit. More detailed and accurate than a Smer kit and no conversion necessary.

Hey Brian ,

You sure do like a challenge don't you  ;)

It is do-able but it will be a fair amount of work on the fuselage . The SVA was longer and different shape nose and the height of the fuselage also differed . All other details should be fairly simple to do . I guess it really depends if it something you find worth doing . You do really awesome work so I think you can pull it off .

well, it is much easier to start from a SPAD XIII
the SVA and the balilla have little in common except the nose
