Amazing detail, a beautiful model. Which Kit and how long did you work on this beauty?
Cheers,
Lance

Sometimes I see photos of a model and think that the author has put the wrong scale on the title....

Ah that’s great!

I recently posted one I did in 1/144th - and that seemed big!

It's the Revell kit (originally Matchbox)....but not much more than the hull is used from the kit.  Most of the superstructure and details are from David Parkins' excellent aftermarket items, which I'd highly recommend.

This is every bit as good (and I believe better) then the large scale scratch built model on display at our Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, magnificent work! It's a pleasure to view this; the Royal Canadian Navy had 123 of these ships in service during the Second World War and 10 of those were lost in action. My Father and my Father in Law both served in them and I've always had a great interest in, particularly, "Canada's Flowers" as some call them.
Thanks for the photos, and again congratulations on a magnificent piece of work!
Cheers,
Lance

Wow, what  a model!
I think that once you have this in front of you in real life, you can stay for a long time and always discover new details.
Cheers,
Frank

PS: But the boatswain urgently needs to shoo the sailor over the ship with a bucket of paint! ;)

Thanks for the kind words! - and thanks, Lance, for sharing your Dad's history.  I mimicked photos of heavily weathered 'Flowers' the best I could -- chipping and rust in the extreme.

I'm not very good at painting figures, but I did include a couple of dachshunds on the ship, in tribute to my 'helpers' who patiently wait under my desk as I build.

Thanks for the extra pictures. Amazing work. How long is it, and where do you keep it?
