Polish Oeffag D.III Kościuszko's Squadron No.3 help wanted
« on: October 17, 2020, 04:06:29 AM »
Good evening to all!
My next project is to replicate this photo:

I'm looking for color infos on Oeffag No.3 on the right. What I have now is that was probably personal plane of Lt. Harmon Rorison, american volunteer. Crosschecking my info I discovered that his aircraft No.3 was destroyed in bad landing BEFORE arrival of Ansaldo Balillas to Kościuszko's Squadron (a/c left in photo). Here the photo I have:

I noted that crashed plane have light color rudder, instead of the one in line with Balilla. A second No.3 that takes place of the one destroyed? Any ideas?
I have from a Polish publication this well realized color scheme:

but I'm lost at sea with Polish language, may someone here translate for me?
Finally, I'm looking for the shade of fuselage green and if it's possible that this plane had flying surfaces covered with printed sworls camo as No.5 of volunteer Merian Cooper.
I know that I'm out of time because this was a 1920's photo, but I will be grateful to anyone may help me.
Finally, a smiling Harmon Rorison beside his No.3 (before the crash?)

Thank you in advance!
Roberto Andervill
