WnW LVG C.VI - 14400/17 Late Prototype 1918 Marking Scheme
« on: December 06, 2012, 10:08:11 AM »
Today I finished my first two-seater, WnW's LVG C.VI which I began on October 12th this year. I decided to build aircraft number 14400/17 Late Prototype 1918, to further my experience in replicating a woodgrain fuselage. Rather than repeat the information that appears in my build log at: http://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=945.135  I'll just say that this is an excellent kit, and a pleasure to build. Those familiar with this marking scheme will note that it shouldn't include the observer's MG but I included it in most of these shots because . . . well . . .  it's my model and I think it adds a bit of interest.

Thanks for dropping by and having a look.

Cheers,

Chris

You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

At the risk of repeating myself, she's a beautiful bird! It's the finer touches that really make it stand out.

Well done, Chris.

She's truly lovely, Chris!  An absolute gem.  I would be thrilled if mine turned out so exquisite.

Congratulations Chris on completing a spectacular build, it looks awesome. The overall finish is superb with excelent rigging and a fantastic laminated propeller. Even though it is not supposed to have the observers machine gun I reckon it looks great, very well done Chris.  :) :) :)

Very nicely Done Chris.  As has been stated, a very "crisp" model.  Very well defined lines with the use of oil highlighting, and...the machine gun is a nice touch.  I am sure that somewhere in the Bundesarchiv is a photo of it with a machine gun.

Best

Hi Chris.  Great job!  I've already commented over on the build log, but I'll repeat that the fuselage looks like you used . . . wood! ;D  Spectacular!  I also think you nailed the green and mauve shades of paint: not too garish nor too pastel--just right, IMHO.  I really like this scheme, with the painted camo and the maltese crosses on this aircraft.  Good choice!

Regards,

Bob
