« on: July 08, 2020, 03:08:42 PM »
The town of Leisnig in Saxony is first mentioned in 1046, and hosts Mildenstein Castle that is over 1000 years old.  After much research of the original photo, I decided that the colors of Leisnig were the best logical choice for the black and white photo I used for inspiration.

I was originally quite worried about crinkles on the wing edge.  After seeing crinkles on the real thing, I decided not to try to remove all of them.

And finally...  the inspiration for this build:

Thank you for looking!

Great result Gaz, it was a pleasure to follow your build log and see you overcome challenges to produce this cracker.  Seriously impressive masking and finishing!

Gazzas,
That is very convincing to my eye. Add a photo in gray scale and I bet you'll see you got the colour right.

I really like this model. One of the nicest D.VII liveries I've seen and definitely not over modeled. Great choice, better execution and superlative model.
