Wingnut Wings 1/32 LVG C.VI

I finally got around to doing something I should have done years ago - take some decent photos of my Wingnut Wings 1/32 LVG C.VI. This model represents many firsts and a second for me. Besides being my first Wingnut kit, it was the first time using lozenge decals, first time doing significant rigging, and the first time doing wood grain effect over a large area. It was my second WWI-era model.

She turned out super ! I like the wood effect on the fuselage , very well done  :)

Thank you Jason!  Yes, the wood effect is oil over Tamiya paint base.
FYI, I built the model 10 years ago and shortly afterwards I put together this tutorial on how I did the wood effect.

Thanks Terri!  Hard to believe it was 10 years ago that I built her.  And sad that it took this long for me to take some decent photos.  :)

The overall experience was life-changing (my modeling "life" that is).  When Wingnut Wings burst on the scene, I had only built one WWI model - a DML 1/48 Fokker Dr.1 - and normally did not build in 1/32.  After seeing numerous reviews I decided to treat myself to a single WNW kit to see what all the hub-bub was about.  At the time I knew very little about WWI aircraft and had never heard of the LVG but thought it looked cool so I chose it.  When the kit arrived I immediately knew it was something special.  The box art alone was stunning, beyond anything I'd ever seen.  Whatever I was working on at the time was set aside and I plunged in.  9 months later, a completed LVG was on my shelf and the start of a love affair with WNW began.  Now, 10 years later, I have 30+ WNW kits in my stash, have built 5, and am about to start #6 (an Albatros D.Va).   :)

  Absolutely spectacular Eric! The same scheme I chose for mine, and you've done an incredibly great job on it! Your second WW.I Model.........? Hard to believe, she's a real beauty!

I see only a super clean build, and with the lovely details you show on this pictures, I can (again) fully understand the buzz around this company.
Really pity, that the model community lost this source (and that the 1/32 models are to big for me).

If you keep learning and improving like this, where will it lead? ::)

For only your second WW1 subject that is a truly amazing build. The quality of the finish is just first class - a mini-masterpiece in every way. I am so pleased that you have posted this - it is a real inspiration.

Thank you for those kind comments guys!  I forgot to mention I built the LVG 10 years ago. :)

I've built a few WWI models since then including a couple Eduard 1/48 subjects and 4 other WNW kits.   ;D
