Eduard 1/48 Nieuport 17 - OOB Quick Build
« on: December 02, 2012, 12:31:00 PM »
Hi folks,

Here is my latest build; the 1/48 Eduard Nieuport 17 (profipack boxing), built out of the box as a quick and relaxing build, as I hadn't finished anything in a while. This was the first time that I had rigged a biplane using the “monofilament, turnbuckles and sleeves” method (I usually rig my biplanes with elastic), but this one turned out ok for a first try.

I chose to paint the model in the markings of N2779 of Escadrille N.112, flown by Sois Lieutenant Carre, April 1917.  This aircraft was forced down near Leffincourt and captured by the Germans. The markings came from the AeroMaster sheet 48-504 "Silver Hawks - Nieuport 17 Fighters 1916-1917 Pt 1”.  The kit was a real breeze to build, which is probably why it has been a staple re-release for Eduard for so long.  Anyways, some pics:

Some fun  :) :

And a quick couple of shots of the interior:

It feels good to get something built  :)  Any feedback is welcomed!

Thanks,

BC

She's truly gorgeous, Brad.  Finished to your usual brilliant standards.  Glad to see you back in the saddle, mate.  Hope to see more from you soon.
Cheers,
Bud

Absolutely beautiful. Up to your usual standards, one could recognise the master even if it were not signed. Thanks, Brad for sharing it!
