Dornier D.1//CSM//1:48
« on: June 23, 2020, 07:51:34 PM »
Good Day,

French WWI aircrafts rigging is quite complicated. Thus having the leverage between Salmson (https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=11080.0) current tedious work I have decided to commence the therapy using something WITHOUT rigging.
pls find this build as the French break keeping in mind that there is nothing better for modellers brake than opening a new model
Lower wing bubbles fixed, kit engine will be used.

KrzysiekK,
This is a kit I've had in my stash for a long time. The Dornier D.1 is also an aircraft I've thought I
might scratch build in 1/32nd scale in the future. I look forward to seeing your progress.

An aircraft that is seldom modeled, should be an interesting build! Nice start on the engine.

Very interesting! The engine looks like a copy from another kit ;)
I hope that we will see it one day as shortrun, this is on my wishlist.

Cheers,
Frank

Good Day

Not much stuff inside especially for interior build up (darker resin with magneto comes from diff kit), so must have scratched oil pump and compass at first place. I must keep in mind that space for moderate the plane control equipment is rather small so would add magneto and rudder bar later on

K

Love the pump and compass, you must have enjoyed making them.

This is not an aircraft I am familiar with so I will follow this build with great interest.

Nice start, looks a challenging and promising build. The subject is one of the many deserving re-issuing, one of many rare birds seldom seen around. Good luck.

Nice start!
those details would challenge me at 1/32 sale.  Impressed with your renditions.

So delighted to see you building this one, K!  I built mine 2 years ago, but it seems like yesterday.  Such a fun little project! You're going to love it and I'm going to love following along.
Cheers,
Bud

Yes, seen that one in completed section!

The interior is complete fantasy but pls forgive me this part of assembly as I treat this thread as fast & furious action being the springboard of Salmson rigging:)
