Copper State Future releases
« on: May 29, 2020, 05:25:17 AM »
Am I connecting too many dots or just misunderstanding what I am seeing? On the CS website in the 1/32 scale models they have a few intriguing future releases. Their own airplanes kits have the C prefix followed by a number, the future releases have a W prefix and includes planes such as DH 2, Hansa Brandenburg, Fokker E III, Fokker D VII, Sopwith Pup, those were all releases from the defunct WNW. Can I connect a few more dots and assume that CS is planning to acquire some of WNW moulds. I am not trying to start a rumor just curious and wondering if I am reading between the lines!

They are propellers, not kits.

Sorry.

Damn! you had me goin' then! ;D It's a nice dream though. CSM are probably the only company that could do those kits justice and possibly improve on them (decal options, masks etc.) I too am also looking forward to the Hansa-Brandenburg D.I, such an esoteric and unusual looking aircraft.

How about CSM contacting a representative for WNW and getting their hands on whatever has been produced so far for the Fokker DR.I ???

As I understand it, that project was close to finished.

CSM could finish it off and have an enormous sales success on their hands.

I can tell you that is never going to happen. If there is a new 1/32 Dr.1 released, it won't be the WNW one.

No problem.  From what I've seen of Copper State Models and their Nieuports, they are already at least on a par with WNW, if not marginally better.  They could do their own.  JMO, TIFWIW, etc, etc...

CSM seem like nice models but quite pricey.

I think it is relative, CSM are as good or better than WNW and price is the same or cheaper. Depending on shipping to your place in the world.
Tellingly, people are more than happy with their purchases.

Why do you write this?  Are you suggesting you somehow know that WNW will refuse to sell its property and/or IP?

I.E., Peter Jackson intends to throw it all in a bonfire, so to speak?

I've said for a long time that CSM would be wise to build the kits that WNW customers wanted for a long time, but never got.

At the top of that list would be the Fokker DR.I and the SPADs.

If they can't get their hands on the WNW Fokker stuff, then do their own.

Those 2 kits should be their next 2 releases, in either order.
