Pfalz D.XII (1/32, Wingnut Wings)

Here is my representation of Pfalz D.XII flown by Lt. d. R. Rudolf Fuchs in late Summer 1918 for Jasta 77b based at St.Marie Vouziers.
I have selected this one because I wanted the rare version with early fin and rudder and it also had large cut-outs in the side panels to enhance cooling, which allow a view to the detailed engine. Luckily it was not hard to change the kit supplied serial 1394 to Fuchs's 1346!
Additions to the kit include Taurus valves, rockers and spark plugs as well as some scratch elements at the engine - plumbing and electric wires. Rigging is made from Bob's buckles teamed with 0.12 dark fishing line.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed this build.

Prze,
Striking scheme and beautifully done. I enjoyed following your build and this is equally enjoyable to view. Congratulations on a very nice model indeed!

Thank you - a real privilege and an inspiration to see work of this quality.
On a very minor note, you've made me realise that the tyres on my models are far, far too clean!

Brilliant in every way, Prez! Your weathering, your use of washes, shading, everything...Fantastic. Outstanding work, my friend.
Cheers,
Bud

Beautiful work, Przemol. Lots of details and an overall impressive appearance of your of Pfalz D.XII. Especially the rigging is excellent and your weathering understresses the realistic look.

the details are superb!
My favourites: wheels, anemometer, exhaust pipe, fuselage weathering, wings fabric
the prop does not seem convincing to me, do not know precisely why but think some oil paints should improve the outcome
Congratulations!

Many thanks, everybody. I am glad you like it as much as I do
Krzysiek, the prop does not convince me either. Yet, I must say it does look better in reality, the photos are deceiving in this instance.
Adam, I have just taken the box with WNW Albatros D.V from my stash. I have Taurus details for the engine, Pheon Models decals and Bob's buckles for it, too. I am starting it right now.

Which Silver have you used? It looks very...3D? I have 2 Pfalzs coming and would like to replicate your look.

Fantastic build - really like the weathering and finish! Just curious - what brand fishing line do you use that comes in the black color?
