Metallic sewing thread for rigging?

I just read an article in the recent IPMS/USA Journal where a guy rigged his WNW Eindecker using metallic sewing thread similar to this (the brand he used was Sew-Ology).

    Probably a different product completely but I did purchase "Silver Beading Wire" from Cousin Corp of America (0.3 mm) and found it completely unworkable for our purposes. It's a braided product that looks very smooth however is quite rigid and would be difficult to attach to anything. It would certainly look the part if you could use it, I couldn't figure how to use it for rigging though.

I have a spool of the Coats & Clark metallic thread. It's very shiny, so it would need painting or a wash to make it less stark. It's also slightly stretchy. Here are a photo of it and some dimensions.



The thread appears to have a core, around which is wound the metallic element.
