So how are the controls mounted to the rudder bar and control column ?

I don’t have an answer for you, but both WNW and CSM are developing 1/32 kits of this aircraft and may be able to assist. Also, there was article about the HB D.1, I believe,  in Windsock Vol 2 No. 2, which I do not have.

Windsock Datafile 118 has one picture of the control grip and a view of the rudder bar but not very clear.
The Best of Windsock Vol.2 has an article that shows some detail on the control column and inside the cockpit from teh preserved example is Prague. It also lists other sources.
Similar pics are also in Brandenburg D.I - Great War Aircraft in Profile 2 by Flying Machine Press.

I'm not aware of any detailed drawings or better images at this stage.
