Hi!
I built two W.29 in my modelling life, the second was heavy modified Japanese version,
so is a subject that I really love.
Choosing danish version is a good choice in my opinion, I love to build models "out of the normal schemes".
Did you see this?

A very fine choice of the colour scheme, I like the unusual markings very much. And I see you have found your colour drawing in a Polish source. May I ask what the source is?

Hi Roberto, it's absolutely useful!
Yes I do know about the 'candy striped' Hansa-Brandenburg W.29.
I'm not sure about background story though.

The build is close to the 'paint phase'

I have been 'derailed' from the build because I have been working on the transport 'carts'.
The danish are different from those supplied in the kit...

Some have wooden wheels...

The earlier ones had 'steel wheels'.

Originals + cast resin duplicates...

One cart assembled...

And.. the float fits the cart!

The geometry is about right, the float is not supposed to touch the ground.

PrzemoL:

The 'Polish' profile is found online on Wings Palette, I do not know of it's origin other than that.

Przemo,
an article about visit of Danish Brandenburgs in Puck was once published in a mini Replika 4/98 - including several profile drawings (but not that striped one)

Hi there found a little info on the 'candy striped' Hansa-Brandenburg W.29

Apparently "Det Danske Luftfartselskab" (Early Danish Airlines Company) acquired two Hansa's and used them for some kind of 'Baywatch'.
I will try to get to the bottom of this. But there is no doubt, that these are not associated with the Naval Danish HB 29's.
One HB 29 was bought for the Naval station and was given the number 24. It was stricken after an accident 28-6-1924.
The 15 others were build at the Naval Dock Yard in the following years and a couple of them 'survived' and was operated until 1931.

This guy has build another version than the one in the pictures. Wonder if the wing pattern is correct?

This photo apparently show s the other HB 29 (Or is it before the nose was painted red too?)

Continued work on the floats and trolleys...

The Trolleys are done as are some scratched wooden trestles.

Excellent work on a unique subject! I too enjoy building subjects that are off the beaten track. Several years ago I built the W.29 as a post-war DLR mailplane:

Thanks Terri.

Last markings I needed was the numbers.

For this I had help from fellow modeler Thomas Lund, who own's a Silouette cutter.
He drev the numbers from jpg's I send him and voila! masks for the '25' numbers on the Fuselage.

Painted with Vallejo's Stencil color.

Same procedure on the big '25' numbers on the bottom wings, painted using Vallejo's Nato black.
And yes they are supposed to be upside down on either wing.

Everything is initially weathered with Flory models dark dirt.

The weathered floats.

Wings have been given a 'light' version of the salt weathering technique, to add some variation to the large grey surfaces.

Next step will be to assemble the build before adding more weathering...

Thanks for looking: Kent
