Roden 606 = Albatros D.III parts wanted
« on: January 12, 2020, 08:06:17 PM »
Following a successful conclusion to what was initially a bit of an Ebay disaster, I now own a started Roden Albatros D.III

Not advertised as a started kit though...

Anyway, I'm short of a few bits. Specifically:

Centre pages of the instructions

Part 6D wheels 2 off

There are wheels on the D sprue, they are for a different variant of the kit. So, presumably a version of the kit uses 13D and has 6D spare

Has anyone got a spare set of instructions, and a couple of wheels 6D?

I managed to find the instructions here: https://www.super-hobby.se/products/Albatros-D.III-575394.html

Although they do have a big red watermark

It looks like the rudder is missing too  :(

I have ordered the Albatros book: https://www.windsockdatafilespecials.co.uk/albatros-diii-21-p.asp so with a bit of luck I'll find some wheels in my stock of bits. Making a new rudder is annoying but not too difficult

I'm wondering if this has actually given me an opportunity.

They look rather nice.

I'll wait for the book, then dig through the bits I have left over from other kits first. Otherwise those wheels would do the job

If you need better, non-watermarked instructions I can scan them to a PDF for you.
Unfortunately I need the rudder myself, but if you like or need it I can trace the outline for you.
The other wheels are for the OAW version, which I seem to remember had larger rims. If it's any help I can measure 6D for you.

The PDF file would be very useful, thank you, as would the dimensions of the wheels. I'm OK with making a rudder

So, what I need are the unused wheels from a Roden Albatros D.III OAW - kit number 608?

Richard,
I have the #606 D.III Kit and hope to build it as the OAW Version with the oversize wheels. I also have a full set of the Instructions from an earlier Build; send me your mailing address if you want them and I'll post the smaller wheel parts and booklet to you ....... glad to help if you wish.
Cheers,
Lance

Well, thanks to the generosity of forum members, I now have a set of instructions and a pair of suitable wheels. Thank you both

I think Des would have loved that
