Fokker E.III cockpit pics?
« on: December 06, 2019, 12:15:51 PM »
Hi there.

I'm gathering info to use with WNW's Eindecker. One of the areas that I'm confused about is the back cockpit wall as found behind the seat. Does anyone have a picture of this area they can share? I know TVAL has a reproduction that looks really good. Has anyone been lucky enough to snaps some cockpit detail pcis?

Thanks, Chuck.

Something you'll not find in most models are the transport rods held in thier place on the rear wall of the cockpit. The rods hold together the aft wing spars when the wings are in the transport position. There are two interconnected rods each with a 90 degree end, that slots into each wing spar.

Thanks!

I see what looks like a pin on a short chain on the right side of the back wall of the cockpit. Does anyone have any idea what this pin is for and where it goes when it isn't hanging free as seen in the picture?

The pin on the chain is for locking in the spar to the fuselage, each attachment point has one.
