A great looking model, Frank.  Thanks for allowing us to follow along, ask questions about your work, and also enjoy the end result.
As others have said, your modeling skills are at a master's level.   8)

Beautiful build Frank!

Following your build log makes it more impressive knowing some of the obstacles you have to overcome.

Great build Frank, Congratulations on your fifth for this year! I am keen on seeing it in person.

Thank you very much Robin, Stephen, Bob, Dave, Steve, Albert, Juan, Terri, Manni, Fredrik, Giuseppe, Lance, Ken, Gary,Pedja, Chuck, Paul and Andreas!
Highly appreciated!

I have to keep thinking that this is 1/48 scale not 1/24 (Well that is what you tell us!)
Ah, that is a great idea! If my eyes one day are no more good enough for 1/48, I will use your trick 8)

But on top of that you have also taken us through the building process step by step, something I really, really like!
Oh yes, this build was a very interesting journey also for me :D

I have to mention the results you achieved on the "brass" sleeves on the prop tips; I've tried to use the paint solution and failed miserably at it, you "aced" it!
Thank you Lance! The main driver to go this way was the decal number. I thought, that also on real brass I have to use clear coat as base for the decal, so I used then a paint directly.

I am keen on seeing it in person.
I hope, that we can manage to see us in FFB next February!

This bird moved again into a project with huge effort, but since the finish I have not done anything ???
It will need a deep breath and I will continue with one of the shelf queens, or a new project, may be again a Albatros? ;) ;D

Cheers,
Frank

Hi Frank,
as I wrote in your W.I.P., this is a masterpiece, really. Something to learn to.
It seems ready to be take from a crane and to place in water, do you think to place it in a diorama?
Many congratulations,
Roberto

Thank you Roberto!

Would be a interesting task, to learn something new, but I don't think so, at least in near future.

The reason is my glass cabinet on a wall. It is big, still a lot of space, but not very deep (also to small for WNW).
The aluminium profiles carry LED strips and illuminate the models from below and above, so a base would create a lot of shadow.

Cheers,
Frank

Beautifully done display case Frank, and a magnificent collection of models! A real pleasure to see this, is it your own design and build or did you find it on the market somewhere?
Cheers,
Lance

Oh, no, I bought the cabinet. You don't have to be able to do everything and you can leave something to the experts 8). And working with safety glass is not that easy either.

The size is 1,20m width x 1m high, but only 25cm deep. The reason is a staircase to the attic:

Please note: on the previous picture it was new and no light installed. There were only lights from top or sides offered, so I made my own solution.
Small 5mm stripes with (higly correct color, CRI=85) LEDs in alu profiles:

Clamped with the 8mm glass shelves, wires inside the frame:

So finally my downscaled biplanes are nicely presented :) Please ignore the color of the picture, white balance of the camera was in trouble.

Cheers,
Frank

Enjoyed the W-4 (as well as all of your previous posts). Nice to see them all in one shot.

What is the source and model # of those light strips. The alum strips 5mm 90 degree Angle that you just cut and modify ?
