WNW Sopwith Pup Baby Mine
« on: November 09, 2019, 09:37:01 PM »
Finished this build, my first WNW kit.  A very nice kit that would look great with just careful painting.  I have added some detail to mine, however.

Some detail shots

This was an enjoyable build.  I hope you like the outcome.  Thanks for looking.

Truly gorgeous.

What strikes me ....the very fine paint chipping on the red painted metal parts. Fantastic!

What the others have written - just super. Excellent finish and weathering - not too much, just enough!

Robin - I used AK Interactive chipping fluid on the red metal parts - easy to use.
Rick and Bob - thanks for your encouraging comments.  I enjoy seeing your work also.
Juan - I have done another engine (for the next build) and have refined my technique.  I think it's a significant improvement over this one.
Stephen - I kept the weathering to a minimum to depict the 'Baby Mine' as a newborn.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm not really satisfied with the pictures.  I think the large contrast between the PC and the CDL makes it difficult to capture the details over both colors.  I have tried different backgrounds here to try to find a happy medium.

I want to do the WNW Fokker Dr.1, but I have plans for another build or two before that.  Hopefully WNW will issue it in early 2020.

Very NICE !!   As others have said, I like the subtle weathering and the paint chipping effect on the red cowling.  Very nicely done.
