Rib tapes for Eduard 1/72 scale Fokker D.VII
« on: October 23, 2019, 07:21:34 AM »
I recently received an Eduard 1/72 Fokker D.VII and noticed that the rib tape decals are Lozenge tapes.  I thought that OAW Fokker D.VII had blue rib tapes. Even the box art show blue tapes.  Can anyone  explain this?  Thanks

Wow Rip,

Take about a involved subject. My general first thought for Fokker D-VII's is:

Lozenge rib tapes=Fokker
Blue tapes = Albatros
Pink Tapes = OAW

But, there are no hard and fast rules. It's best to research the particular plane you're building and hopefully a pic that will identify want was applied. I recommend you do an internet search and there are several good online sites that really go into the development and application of the "lozenge" fabric. Good luck!

Hi Rip,
same thoughts as above. When you choose the subject, start an internet search (or ask here!).
Aviattic have in his range a fantastic sets of lozenge for all the D.VII variants built, with rib tape printed on.
They fits well on Revell kit, not so much on Roden but I don't know if they fits on Eduard too. I may check later.
The Aviattic decals sets are fantastic, in colors and strenght.
Hope useful,
Roberto
