« on: October 05, 2019, 09:03:37 AM »
Just did a photo shoot of this one from years ago. Hasegawa 1/48th Ki61. The blotches were Airbrushed around the Markings with a Binks Wren A tip single action Airbrush.

Excellent job on your Tony Rick ! I built this kit not that long ago . Not a bad kit actual , but I do have Tamiya's new tooled in the stash .

What was your mix for the primer in the wheel wells ?

Thanks T. As for the wheel well mix all I can say is it is a thinned light blue over aluminum...been at least 25 years since I built this one . I do remember that someone came out with a mixing formula for the Tan interior. When followed it was basically Desert Sand Yellow  ::) The aluminum was Floquil Old Silver and the green was most likely Aeromaster JAAF Green. The red tail would have been floquil.

Thanks Dave. I was in My prime then... I don't think I could get the same results now  ;D

Only just found this Rick. You were a master modeller 25 years ago already - nothing muc has changed in the meantime except that some of the finer details and colours are better today! I am not usually a fan of Japanese types but looking at you model I could easily be converted!

Thanks Stephen, greatly appreciate the generous comment ! Funny thing was that I first got into Japanese WW2 aircraft because they were so colorful...the closest to WW1 that I found  8)

Thanks Amigo! The Binks Wren A tip gave a lot of control for a single action gun and was very comfortable in the hand  8)
