WNW Albatros Reissue x 6
« on: September 27, 2019, 09:48:01 AM »
Just saw this on FB. WNW is reissuing 6 versions of the Albatros DV and DVa based on their former Post Purchase Decal sheets.

That's great news.
I checked a few hours ago and concluded I missed the Albi boat. Kinda scary they added a whole pile shortly after. :o

Sweet!

Also looks like they have the plastic & PE to do the V or Va.

A trickle turns to a stream, turns to a flood! Great time to be a WWI modeller.
Interesting that the Bavarian D.Va is only available direct from NZ. That would likely be the most desirable, but postage and import might be a killer for us in the UK and Europe.
Also great that the camo planes without lozenge decals are 10bucks cheaper. (Which again asks why Goering's D.VII without lozenge is dearer than Barker's Snipe?)
Great stuff!

WNW must have inked a deal that increases their production capacity greatly.  Knowing they are a design company, someone else produces their molds and does their production.  The kits they've announced recently are from molds already made.  I wouldn't be suprised if the company that produces their kits is the same Korean one that does Gallery Models for MRC, the importer here in the US.  Moulding quality and level of detail looks very similar.

WNW drops a nuke on us!

In the email it speaks of a new series like the these new Albatros releases, so perhaps we will see other multiple brown box offerings soon.

I would like to see WNW offer just the plain plastic only kit at a discount, kind of like Eduard does the overtrees boxings. There are so many aftermarket decals, etc. available now for the Albies.

Looking at the sold out decal sheets suggests we will have Fighting Fokkers parts 1-5 (D.VIIs) and Flying Circus parts 1-2 (Pfalz) boxings in raw cardboard to look forward to too, dontcha think?

I've got 2 in the stash, but I'm sorely tempted to get a third.

Have you compared the contents of the D7 with the Snipe? We get much more with the D7.

Yes you could well be right, but the quantity of content doesn't seem to affect the price of other single seaters- viz the Eindeckers in fairly empty boxes compared to, say, the Camels at the same RRP.
Anyway I've happily bought several D.VIIs at whatever cost : it isn't the price that will stop me buying the forthcoming one!
