CF 18 Hornet Desk Model
« on: September 04, 2019, 06:23:52 AM »
My Daughter has been asking me to build a small CF 18 Hornet for her desk at work for some time, she is Assistant Principal at a Junior High School in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With bench time at a premium these past few months as I attempt to train a new Pup and have been involved in judging our Tribute Build I managed to complete this little 1:72 Kit in the markings I first soloed on the type a very long time ago.
A nice relaxing change of pace but I must admit it's better to be back at more topical subjects as I commence the Wingnut Wings Halbie, much more "Happy Factor" at the bench these past few days!

This one has a clear plastic articulating stand which I want to get a few decals on before it all goes together.
Cheers,
Lance

Cool, I like the low viz marking decals!
Now she can say "the bird flown by my dad"?

Cheers,
Frank

Looking really nice Lance. There are some great 1/72 kits around now.

A nice build for your daughter.  Now she can brag about her Dad to everyone at work when they ask about the model.

Thanks for your comments Gents. It is a nice little Kit, an After Market product using the Hasegawa molds I believe. (by a Canadian Company, Canuck Models.)

Nearly missed this Lance. I am not normally a fan of things with holes in the back, but this is a wonderful gift for your daughter. I hope that it catches the eyes of visitors to her office - it certainly deserves to!

Stephen.

Thanks for looking Stephen and for your comment. Her specialty is children with special needs, and she claims that a photo of a Hornet she used to display often served to stimulate communication with the less gifted of that group. I'm just hoping that some less well behaved "clients" she deals with don't trash it! Her patience amazes me, some of these children are downright evil!
Cheers,
Lance
