Fokker D VII Ltn. Greven 1:72 Eduard
« on: August 05, 2019, 03:22:52 AM »
Hi Friends,
this is the new kit from Eduard. Very crispy surface, correct in scale and very fine details. Not a weekend project but easy to build in a short time.

photoetched and prepainted seatbelts included

fuselage closed, engine without further detailing because all hatches are closed

cheers
Jörg

That is an excellent start. What detail is included in modern kits: long gone are the days where the pilot sat on a peg!

Great Start Jorg! It is nice to see a DVII kkit in 1/72nd that has detail, accuracy of outline, and ease of assembly!

Thank you for your kind comments!

The colors of the Lozenge decals are not state of the art, a problem that Euard could not solve so far. Fortunately I have a replacement, Aviattik fivecolor Lozenge 1:72.
So the wings are primed and preshaded with pigments

the difference between Eduard and Aviattik Lozenge...

Cheers

Thanks for showing us the difference in the lozenge patterns.  I did not realize how different they are.
Good progress with your Fokker.  I didn't realize it was 1/72 scale.

The pre shading and Aviattic Lozenge came out great!

Jörg,
Thanks for starting and sharing this build. I've just received a few of these kits and look forward to following your progress.

Good start!
Seems to be a nice kit. From business point of view very interesting decision to develop this kit, since the Roden kits in same scale are already available. On the other hand there are so many biplanes without a kit ...

Cheers,
Frank

Nice looking kit. The lozenge situation seems to be an ongoing problem. Eduard are so diligent on their project accuracy (the 109 re-do) I'm suprised this could be so "off"

Thank you for your comments!

fuselage painted, this time with Revell Aqua Color (blue 56, white 05), suitable for airbrush and brushpainting.

the Eduard decals are setting very fast, a correction by brush will be necessary

riptapes from the original Eduard decalset (I was too lazy cutting them from the Aviattik sheat)

underside lozenge and riptapes from Eduard, the colors are reasonably acceptable

Cheers

Nice built,Jorgo! And so fast ! got that kit from a very good friend for my birthday and have the Aviattic lozenge in my stash, too,so now it's to decide which version to build...might rob one of my Roden kits for the personal markings.
