The winners - 1/32 scale biplanes

3rd place

2nd place

1st place

Don't know who built them, but the winning Alby had very shiny wings.

The winning Albatros was made to represent the one in the Smithsonian as it appears there. Thus the shiny finish. Bob Steinbrunn was the builder. The Camel was built by Ken Niles. Don't know the other Albatros builder.

I built the Albatros that came in 3rd place.
Had a total of 3 entries in the biplanes & 3 entries in 1/32 prop.
Took a 1st place in 1/32 prop as well.

Congratulations on a well deserved win at the Nationals, no small feat, your Albatros is stunning! What was your 1:32 Scale Prop subject that got a first place? A photo would be welcome as well!
Cheers,
Lance

Lance,
Thank you!
My 1/32 Prop win was a Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk V.

The other Albatros in the photos, the 'Death Head' D.V.a was mine as well, not Karim's.

Larry,
By coincidence the Tempest is a subject that will probably tempt me to take a break from WW.I in the not too distant future, beautifully done! I'll send you a PM so as not to de-rail this Thread.
Cheers,
Lance

Congratulations Aircare84.  I really liked the Death's Head Alby.

My Hanriot took a 2nd to the Gallaudet that took best aircraft.  I also received 5 other awards in other categories.  Not bad for bringing 7 models to the contest.

Larry and Ken,
Like I said, having seen these builds in person I was absolutely amazed at the quality! Congrats to both of you, well deserved!

Thanks all for  the great comments!
Appreciate all.
Great motivator to build more.
Am currently working on a Jasta V Albi in the markings of Richard Flasher.

Ken,
Thank you,
Your Hanriot was beautiful! Well done & congrats.
You did quite well with 6 awards and only 7 entries.

You're welcome, Larry.

It appeared that you used wood grain decals on the fuses.  If so, what type were they?  They are very convincing.

Ken,
I used the Uschi brand decals for the fuselages on the Albatros'
