DFW T-28 Floh 1/72

In between, the TwelveSquared kit of the ugly-funny project of 1915 comes to us as a 1/72 kit. Not many parts and a simply light blue-grey camo sheme will give a weekend edition. 
The Floh (flea) war the first trial to bring bothwings into contact to the fuselage - as the later Soviet I-153.Deutsche Luftfahrzeug Werkes trail was to eliminate to loose upper wing - but for the price of a very bad view down and foreward.  So the Imperial German Airforce decided not to go with this agile little fighter. The only prototype crashed and wasn't rebuild. As my wife wants this little airplane It will be integrated in the flying circus at her livingroom lamp.

So I hope to get the LFG fighter build tomorrow...

A bit clumpsy but in there it must be able to find the kit ;)

It is the worst airplane kit I ever got (beside Smer Fooker D.VII) and I have to admit it is a lot of fun working the kit out of the sprues. But I'll have to act with my Proxxon Dremel to cut some parts out of the sprues without cracking them. So here the first results.
After gutting I have to start an orgia of puttying and sanding. But I am quite impressed of the added detailing I think I may be able to bring in the foreground by drilling, carving and inking.

The flea is jumping towards progress...


I managed to cut out some more kit parts and figured out that the Revell Albstros D-III decals will fit the kit.



Here the plastic kit on the 1/32 copy of a free flying model.

Hello guys,
the flea will get some distinguished sanding as the plastic is very very soft. So I could press a fabric pattern on the wings by tipping with a needle lightly on the surface.

There is not too much to see in the cockpit - but the kit gives us a floor borad with two runimentary pedals, some kind of joke of a seat and... NOTHING!

On the pictures I could not find any dashboard , altmeter or some other instruments.


So my question to those we call ",old rabbits" in Germany:
Do I have to look for some inner rigging or some gatter structure as I know it form the Fokker D.VII? Does anyone of you know some details? (Or I do some simplifying  workaround and place a specialy fat guy as pilot figure in there to close the line os sight?)

There have been some builds of the Eduard and maybe the Planet Models Floh on this site. You could try the search engine to see if they offer any details. Otherwise I Like the Idea of a "Fat" pilot  ;D

What a crazy looking plane!  A normal pilot should cover your cockpit well enough...lol

Lozenge, I strongly recommend downloading Mike's PDF build log on this little freak.  It is one of the most comprehensive build logs I've ever seen.
