Two very fine looking models, Rick.  A wooden Alby and the Black Baron!  The weathering on the Pfalz's wings looks great, and the wood on the Alby, of course.  I'm interested in what you mean by 'smoke and mirrors' turnbuckles.
BTW - were the machine guns from the kits? or AM?

All of your models are very well done. Exceptional work.
I'm curious as to the turnbuckles you mention , you saw me use decal strips for manifold wrapping , turnbuckles were wrapped in doped linen as well sometimes , is this what you are alluding to?

Thanks for dropping by and the comments! As for the Smoke and Mirrors Turnbuckles I just use a little white glue and paint. They will not win a contest but when I get it right they look enough like Buckles to get by with  ::) You can see them on My last albatross, look at the base of the left V strut:

one advantage is they are always in alignment with the wires  8)

Thanks for the kind comments! I answered the turnbuckle question above. As for the Spandaus they are the kit guns.

Very nice Rick!

I think that the Alby is probably my favourite Wingnut’s kit, so many variants and colour options.

Thanks Guy and I do agree about the schemes and variants. This one is My LAST PLANNED DV/Va so a bit sad on that count  :(

Great!
Sad to hear from your mishap, but these things happen frequently not only on your workbench....  ::)
Best regards

Rick, I echo all of the above superlatives even with your mishap.

I am sorry Rick but somehow I missed your last post showing these two nearly finished.... WOW they are truly spectacular, even by your (exceptional) standards. What a pair!! (Should I rephrase that?)

I would be very proud indeed if they were in my glass cabinets.

Stephen.

The Pfalz DIIIa is pretty Much Done. Perhaps a thing or two weathering wise but this will be the last update. The Albatros will be done tomorrow.
