Hello everybody,
I am thinking of building Wingnut Wings Polikarpov R-1 from their Post war Ninak kit. The instructions state the interior to be varnished wood but I have only seen painted wooden structures of Russian aircraft. Does anyone know if a painted interior would be more appropriate for the R-1? Also, does anyone know if the R-1 used a wicker pilot seat or a metal one as most pre-WWII Russian aircraft. I realize that the R-1 was the first mass-produced Russian aircraft so there might not have been a standard at that time.
